Tree-Hugging Bride

Most people would have heard the song,

‘I think that I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree’

My latest bride, who calls herself a‘tree-hugger’, not only believes in the beauty of trees, but decided to exchange her wedding vows in front of one of her favourites - a three-hundred year old Moreton Bay Fig Tree at the Old Petrie Town park.

Apparently in the early years the area was pretty well-covered with those trees. But like many other places, this one was found by the early Pioneers and their sharp axes. So today you may only find one or two of these trees. As did my bride.
Apart from the setting, another unique thing about this wedding was how the wedding rings were carried by the bride's best friend. I won't pin-point  the exact location, but they were somewhere in the vicinity of a V neckline and used for the purpose of tucking things in by women since forever.
I've attached a video in memory of the trees that managed to survive against all odds.
