26 Ways to say 'I love You'

1…Always and ever let us be true to the promises we’ve made on this our wedding day.

2…Because you are the love of my life, I want to face our future with you by my side.

3…Cherishing the moment when you first entered my life, I promise to love you for all the days of my life.

4…Daily I thank my good fortune for having you in my life.

5…Each day I spend with you, makes me love you ever more.

6…From the bottom of my heart I pledge my faithfulness and love for you for the rest of my life.

7…Give me your hand as I give you mine in perfect faith in our love for each other.

8…Holding your hand in mine, I pledge to be you lover, companion and friend for the rest of my life.

9…I loved you from the first moment I met you, and I will love you till the end of time.

10..Just as we need air and water, so do I need your love to make me feel truly alive.

11..Knowing that you love me, I promise to be your faithful and loving wife/husband for the rest of my life.

12..Laugh with me, cry with me, and always remain my love.

13..May each day only bring us closer together united in our love.

14..Near to you or far away from you my love will never alter.

15..On the day you entered my life, you made my world complete.

16..Promise me your life-long love, just as I promise you mine.

17..Quietly and softly you entered my life and changed it for ever.

18..Remember always that whatever changes may enter our lives, my love for you will remain as it is today.

19..Since the moment I first saw you, I knew I had found what I’d been missing.

20..Times may change, but my love for you will remain the same for as long as we both shall live.

21..Until I met you, I have never known what it is to love.

22..Vowing to you my everlasting love, I take you to be my partner through life.

23..Wherever our journey leads us, I will be there beside you.

24..Xylophones and cymbals beat a joyful march the day you entered my life.

25..You make me happier in ways I could have never imagined possible.

26..Zeal for your love is an ever growing and consuming passion which will live for ever; and ends never.

What happened in the Year you Married

Couples may renew their Wedding Vows for different reasons, and at different times. But the most popular time when married couples renew their wedding vows is on their Wedding Anniversary. In particular such significant anniversaries as the 5th, the 10th, the 25th and the 50th Wedding anniversary.

Because it's not a legal ceremony the couple can introduce a variety of steps into their ceremony,  making it uniquely their own. Here is the complete text of one Renewal of Wedding Vows Ceremony I've conducted.

Since we like to commemorate such significant ceremonies in a concrete way, at the end of the Ceremony I usually hand the couple a Renewal of Wedding Vows Certificate.

But apart from this commemorative Certificate, I also like to give the couple a Certificate which outlines the significant events that happened in the year they were married. When I first thought of the idea I wanted to narrow it down to what happened on the Wedding Day itself. But found it too hard, so changed it to what happened in the year instead.

One ot the things I've included - and which got a laugh when I read it out when presenting the Certificate to the couple - was the year when mini-skirts became fashionable! Another one was what horse won the Melbourne Cup that year. (You have to live in Australia to appreciate that one)

Anything special you do for your Renewal of Vows Ceremony? Share your ideas.

Commitment of Vows Ceremony Sample

Love is the greatest thing that we can give to one another...for love is a wondrous gift; no other can take its place, but it can take the place of all the rest. When two people entrust one another with their innermost feelings, their hearts, their lives, the bond between them strengthens and surrounds them until each becomes a part of the other. This closeness cannot be measured by time, words or circumstance. It is a wholeness of the soul, a silence, and the highest form of intimacy.

We are gathered here today, because love gathers us and especially because love has found Leanne and Robert, and woven them together, into the great web of life. We are gathered to remember and rejoice, to recount with one another, that it is love, always love, that leads us to our true destination and to celebrate that Lorraine and Robert have finally arrived.

This is the Partners in Life union of Leanne and Robert. We are here to listen, with love in our hearts, and to share with them, their celebration of love.

FRIEND
To love is to remember and keep alive forever all those unique qualities that drew you to one another in the beginning.... Those first halting phrases...the thrill of discovery.... That wonderful feeling of oneness when your eyes met.

To love is to constantly search for new ways to bring each other to happiness, to make the most of every moment you share together, and marvel at how your feelings for one another keep rising to new dimensions.

To love is to create an oasis of tranquility for one another and a quiet place, apart from others, where you need not pretend...where you can be yourselves.... And know within your hearts, you will be accepted by one another.

To love is to greet each day with anticipation...Always eager for another opportunity to share new adventures...And gather up new memories TOGETHER!

To love is to follow the rainbow through the rain, to be able to laugh at yourselves and be willing to say...."I was wrong, I'm sorry"...To forgive, and more importantly, to FORGET, and to always believe and trust in one another.

To love is to watch with wonder all the miracles of creation, to find beauty in all the simple things of life, and to find, within ourselves, a deeper appreciation and a new awareness of how wonderful it is to be alive...To be happy...To be…TOGETHER.

To love is to come together from the pathways of our past and then move forward...Hand in hand, along the uncharted roads of our future, ready to risk, to dream, and to dare.... And always believe that all things are possible with faith and love.

ROBERT'S VOWS
Today I give you my hand so that you will never be alone. I give you my laughter so that your happiness may always be my happiness. I give you my friendship to support and encourage you. I give you my heart for it belongs to you.

LEANNE'S VOWS
I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give. I promise to respect you as your own person and to realize that your interests, desires and needs are no less important than my own. I promise to share with you my time and my attention
and to bring joy, strength and imagination to our relationship.

Renewal of Vows Ceremony Sample

A wedding is a celebration of falling in love and beginning a marriage. A Renewal of Vows is a celebration of staying in love and staying married.

As Robert and Anne have already found, in every marriage more than a week old, there are grounds for divorce. What they've found is their own grounds for marriage.

And just as we celebrate our successes - whatever they might be - so today, Robert and Anne are celebrating their achievement in being successful at marriage.

Today, on this, their wedding anniversary, Robert and Anne take the opportunity, to rededicate themselves to each other, celebrating what they've accomplished and looking ahead to what they still want to do with their lives.

They have invited you, their relatives and friends, to share with them this celebration. Many of you of you were present five years ago when Robert and Anne exchanged their wedding vows.

In the past five years you have been part of their lives because by your thoughts, your feelings and your acts towards them, you have strengthened their vows. Your presence today is an affirmation that you will continue to take interest in their marriage.

Robert:           We give thanks for all that we've been privileged to experience this past five years - for both the good and the bad, the happy, the sad, the discouraging and the exhilarating.

Anne:              We give thanks for the support given to us when our days were troubled, and the sharing of our joys when times were good.

Robert:            As we enter this new year of our marriage, let us grow in wisdom from mistake we make, in patience from the sorrows we endure, in perseverance from the disappointments we meet, in strength from the trials we face an in joy from the pleasures we are privileged to experience.

Anne:              As we walk hand in hand may our capacity increase in the love, compassion, and understanding we need to make this new year in our marriage not only a year in which we can continue to lovingly minister to each other, but also a year when we can build an inspiring legacy to pass on to all those who choose to follow the path of married life.

Renewing Wedding Vows

Robert:            Five years ago, I, Robert, took you, Anne, to be my lawful wife, to have and to hold, from that day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. Today, I re-affirm that vow.

Anne:              Five years ago, I, Anne, took you, Robert, to be my lawful husband, to have and to hold, from that day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. Today, I re-affirm that vow.

Exchanging the Wedding Rings

Warming the Rings - The wedding rings are passed among all the guest and as they hold them they give their personal blessing before husband and wife exchange them.

Celebrant:       These ring, now warmed by those you love the most, will forever show the world you are one, and they carry with them the eternal love and blessing of your families and friends.

Robert:            With this ring I pledge my continual love for you.

Anne:              With this ring I pledge my continual love for you.

Celebrant:       May that special love you now share continue to grow and blossom in the years to come and be sustained by the Divine, by family and friends, and by the commitment you make again today.

May you find in each other companionship as well as love; understanding as well as compassion; challenge as well as agreement.

May the home in which you live continue to be an island where the pressures of the world can be sorted out and brought into focus; where tensions can be released and understood; where personal needs do not tower over concerns for other and where the warmth of humour and love puts crisis into perspective.

Above all, may you find an even richer joy in living, learning, and loving together.

2. Candle Lighting Ceremony
3. Welcoming a Child in the Relationship

We have come here today not only to witness their commitment to each other, but also to wish them well and to share their joy in the new life they now undertake together.
We who love, can look at the one we love and say, “I touched his life”, or “I touched her life”, or “I was part of his life, and it is a part of me”. That is a privilege of being a Husband or a Wife: to be oneself, and yet another. That is the strength of marriage; to face the challenges of one with the courage of two.
It takes trust to know in your heart that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And it takes faith to go forward without knowing what the future holds for you both, living your life with love and faith is not a destination, but a journey.
Marriage is a time for celebration and a time for renewing bonds of love, loyalty, family and friendship, so important in all our lives; and marriage is, perhaps, the ultimate expression of these bonds.
Through (Groom's) and (Bride's) decision to publicly exchange vows today, confirms their commitment to a marriage that has already taken place in their hearts and minds. That commitment is made public today, before all of you.

Renewal of Vows by Guests
Celebrant:          As (Bride) and (Groom) make their vows, let all other couples, families and group of friends take this opportunity to reflect on the friendship, love and happiness they share with each other.

Lighting the Candle Ceremony

Affirmation of Intent
Celebrant:          Do you, (Groom) take (Bride) to be your lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, so long as you both shall live?

Groom:                I do.

Celebrant:          Do you, (Bride) take (Groom) to be your lawful husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, so long as you both shall live?

Bride:                   I do.

Wedding Vows
Groom:               (Bride), with all that I am, and all that I have, I take you to be my wife.

Bride:                 (Groom), with all that I am, and all that I have, I take you to be my husband.

Welcoming a Child in the Relationship
Celebrant:          (Bride) and (Groom), in joining your lives together, you also accept the responsibility of your child who makes up your family. Do you promise to give (child) a peaceful and loving family home, to continue to care for her, and at all times to have her best interest at heart?

Bride and Groom: We do.

It takes a groom...it takes a bride...
Two people standing side by side,
It takes a ring, and vows to say, this is our happy wedding day.

But marriage vows are sanctified
And loving hearts are unified
When standing with the bride and groom
Unseen by others in the room
The spirit of the Lord is there, to bless the happy, bridal pair.
For God is love, and married life is richer for both man and wife
Where God becomes a partner too
In everything they plan to do.
For God is love, and married life is richer for both man and wife
In everything they plan to do.
For when God's love becomes a part of body, mind and soul and heart
Their love becomes a wondrous blending
That's both external and unending
and God looks down and says: well done,
For now you two are truly one.

Ring Ceremony
Celebrant:       This ring is the symbol of the vows here taken, circle of roundness, perfect in form. This ring marks the beginning of a long journey together, filled with wonder, surprises, laughter, tears, celebration, grief and joy.

Groom:            All that has been said today, I pledge this symbol. With this ring I thee wed.

Bride:              All that has been said today, I pledge this symbol. With this ring I thee wed.
