Cheer Up!

It seems that some authors at Smashwords decided to cheer people up in the current climate of doom and gloom by asking Smashwords to have a sale. These sales inevitably mean a lot of authors allow their books to be discounted to $0. I've never seen the sense of that. Because if people have a choice of getting a book for nothing, or paying for one, why would they buy them? So my response is usually very lukewarm.

At the last Sale - unlike my normal response - I did offer one of my 7 book for $0. And guess which one sold?.........Clever you! Yes. The only book I sold was the one that had a $0 tag.

This time I became even more generous - or mad, if you like - and have marked three of my book at $0 price. Believe it or not, I just registered for the Sale yesterday, and already I've sold books. Guess which ones?........Clever you again.

As they say, hope springs eternal, so here's to the success of

THE SALE

which will be going to the 20th April, and here's to me personally.

Something to be grateful for

From Marc Reklau
"How are you doing? I hope fine.
Greetings from Barcelona.
One week in lockdown here in Spain. Voluntarily I’m on day 11. And in total probably on day 732 because as I told you before, my “normal” life looks awfully similar to a day in quarantine.
I’m also more unproductive than ever, and my sales tanked. That’s ok. Maybe these times are for that. Slowing down, being more unproductive, reflecting more.
It’s probably the best time for reflection and gratitude so I’m planning to use it and if you want to do that, too, I have something for you:
I decided to give you my 90-Days Gratitude Journal for FREE
You can download it here. (no email needed) https://dl.bookfunnel.com/sjxx33up51"
Thanks, Marc for the Journal and also for letting me share it. Hope you're in your stride soon.

Lucky Number 3

For some years now I’ve been publishing reviews and photographs on Google Maps. The more reviews you write and the more photographs you publish the more points you’re credited with. I find it a lot of fun, especially since it makes me take more interest in where I am so that I can write about it later.

Well my last review and photographs took place a few days ago. And I was quite bemused by the total points I’ve reached when I published. The number seemed almost magical. What was the number? It was 3333.

Couldn’t help feeling that such a number must be significant. So I got on the Internet and started searching.

Needless to say there are oodles of websites ready to agree with me. It seems that just the number 3 is significant. But when that one number is repeated four times, it is most definitely significant.

In the Chinese culture number 3 is a lucky number, and I imagine if one 3 is lucky than a multiple number of 3’s is even more lucky. And as for the person who is lucky enough to have that number….

‘The number three is representative of a highly charismatic and charming person who has an intuitive, perceptive old soul. ……(and) a highly sensitive, kind, caring, empathetic, and compassionate individual who is always looking for the good in other people. They have a huge heart.’

And

‘We are all familiar with the expression “third time lucky”.
In fairy tales three is often the magical number.
Heroes and heroines are often offered three choices or three tests. They overcome difficulties on the third try.’

Speaking of which, recently I bought a handful of shares costing less than $2 a share in Nine Entertainment. According to the experts this company was ready to soar. Five minutes later the price dropped, and dropped and dropped.

Wait! Does that mean my luck has changed? Not a bit of it. I can now buy some more for less than half the price I paid for them originally, and with my lucky 3, they’ll soon be soaring again!!!!!!
